If you’d like to learn even more about layer search and organization, be sure to check out my YouTube channel and the video below: Hopefully this quick tip will help save your sanity next time you get stuck looking for that elusive layer you only kind of remember, along with helping you better organize your layers in future drawings. The next time I need to find a layer in a particular discipline, phase, or any designation you would like, it is as simple as clicking on my Group in the left pane to bring up all of the layers I’ve placed in it. In the example below, I’ve given my Group the name “STEEL” and have selected my layers that contain “steel” in order to drag them into my new Group Filter. Now that you have a new Group Filter, it’s as easy as giving it a name and then dragging and dropping layers into it. To do that we can create a Layer Group Filter, simply click on the New Group Filter button or press Alt+G (see below). This can be super helpful for finding all the layers in a similar discipline, (i.e., Elec or Struc…).īy using this little layer search trick you are able to quickly see all of the layers that are similar to what you are looking for and ideally move towards better organizing them as well. In the example below I used “steel” with the * at the beginning and end, which has given me results that I wouldn’t have gotten with just the default * at the end of the search. This way you only need to be sort of close in your guess and you will still likely get the result you are looking for. That is rarely the case though, and the real trick here is to use the wildcard “*” (star) symbol at the end and the beginning of your search to show all of the possible layers that contain your search query. If you know the exact first characters of the layer you are looking for, then this will work fine. ![]() Start by opening up the layer manager to see your drawings’ layer list highlighted in the top right is the search box.īy default there will be a wildcard “*” at the end of your search term, allowing AutoCAD to guess or fill in the remaining characters after the ones you type in. All you need to know is just a few characters or part of what you think the name of the layer you’re looking for is. ![]() Let’s begin with Layer search, which is a major life saver when you need to find a layer in a large drawing. Today’s Tuesday Tip is an easy one that will save you a ton of time over the life of a project and in all of your drafting in general. You don’t do this do you? There’s a much faster way to find layers and better organize them so you don’t have to spend your time looking. What’s even worse than a cluttered or layer-heavy drawing is the process of tracking down a layer you would like to use or modify and having to scroll through a huge list of layers just to find the one you’re looking for. Finding a specific layer in a large or busy drawing can be tough, especially in drawings that contain a handful of different disciplines like civil drawings or floor plans. 8/8/2023 0 Comments Extended shifty eyes gifSymptoms may include eye pain, blurred vision, redness, gritty feeling in the eyes, discharge, and crusts that form at night, along with increased tearing. ![]() Conjunctivitis can occur in one or both eyes. Wearing contact lenses may increase the risk of conjunctivitis. Causes include bacteria, fungi, and, most commonly, viruses. "Pink eye" is a common term for conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis (infection of the thin, clear membrane covering most of the eye) and blepharitis (infection of the eyelid margins) are two infectious diseases known to cause watery eyes. This is an effort to keep the eye lubricated and wash away germs and discharge. Part of your body's response to an eye infection can be to produce excess tears. Other causes of itchy, watery eyes that are not true allergens include exhaust fumes, aerosol sprays, perfumes, and cigarette smoke. The most common indoor causes are pet dander, dust mites, and molds. The most common outdoor causes of allergic eye symptoms are grass, tree, and weed pollens. Reaction to allergens can cause your eyes to become red and irritated, prompting tear production, itching, and burning. Substances that cause an allergic reaction are called allergens. Other treatments include prescription drugs. One remedy for milder cases of dry eye is using over-the-counter artificial tears. In addition to excessive tearing, symptoms of dry eye syndrome may include blurred vision, itchy eyes, or burning eyes. ![]() People with this condition make tears, but the tears do not contain enough water. But the most common cause of dry eye syndrome is a chronic condition called keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS). Some medical conditions and medications can also lead to dryness, as can a dry and windy environment. Tear production tends to lessen with age, so dry eyes are more common in older adults. That prompts the lacrimal glands to produce so many tears that they overwhelm the eye's natural drainage system. When eyes dry out, they become irritated and uncomfortable. It may not make sense, but dry-eye syndrome often leads to watery eyes. Tears normally drain out of the eye and into the nose through ducts located in the corners of your eyes.īut people with watery eyes are usually experiencing an overproduction of tears, which are made up of water, oil, and mucous. These glands will produce extra tears in response to irritation and inflammation. Every time you blink, you're washing your eyes with tears produced by the lacrimal glands in your upper eyelids. ![]() Tears are essential for nourishment and lubrication of the human eye. Is there anything you can do about it? Yes, depending on the cause. The influx of tears can spill onto your eyelids and cheeks, as though you are crying. When you produce too many tears, or when normal tear drainage is blocked, your eyes may get a little watery. 8/8/2023 0 Comments Timeless skin care china![]() ![]() ![]() With its comprehensive selection of innovative skin care. Just ask your relatives from exotic locations as close as Southern California and as far away as Pennsylvania. It’s not impossible to find it outside the Bay Area, but it’s very uncommon. However, by the 1970s the rice topping recipe becomes the dominant form in the Bay Area, and it really takes off from there. Instead of the rice flour topping giving Dutch Crunch its crunch, local bakers use sesame seeds, possibly in an effort to differentiate the California recipe from the Oregon version. Eventually the bread makes it way to California and the Bay Area, but the recipe changes. In 1941, we get the first clear reference to what makes the bread special - the topping - in some enticing ads. It’s difficult to trace Dutch Crunch’s emergence in the United States, but it was first mentioned in newspapers from Eugene, Oregon, in the 1930s. In 2012, the grocery chain Sainsbury’s renamed their version "giraffe bread" at the suggestion of a 3-year-old girl who astutely pointed out the much closer resemblance in pattern to the long-necked ungulate. It can still be found there under that name and in some other countries, including the United Kingdom, where it is widely available in sliced loaf, roll and large loaf forms. ![]() Over there they call it Tiger Bread (in Dutch: Tijgerbrood), which is a nod to the sort of stripy topping pattern. The earliest mention of a bread with a crispy, rice flour topping comes from the Netherlands in the early part of the 20th century. Once they’re fully risen, they’ll go into the oven and emerge like beautiful crackly phoenixes from the fire. They get a final hand-shaping before pastry bags are used to apply the topping mixture to each roll. Meanwhile, the dough is poured into a large machine that portions out roll-sized pieces and rolls them along a conveyor line to the waiting hands of a bakery employee. All of those things get mixed together and then sit for a few minutes to let the yeast develop. The topping ingredients are rice flour, water, sugar, yeast, oil and salt. The signature crunchy, crackly topping of a Dutch Crunch roll is the result of a special paste that’s applied to rolled dough while it rises. (Amanda Font/KQED) Step 4: Finished Dutch crunch rolls. Local bread comes from local bakers, and Semifreddi’s is a Bay Area institution. ![]() “How does everyone know about San Francisco sourdough, but not about the Bay Area’s best bread?” What makes it so dang good? Where did it come from and why had they never heard of it before? So they turned to Bay Curious: “Where does Dutch Crunch bread come from?” ask Jonathan and Lauren. “It holds up to cheese, avocado, any of the kind of soft things that you put on a sandwich,” says Lauren, “And it has a nice bite, but it’s not too crunchy.”īut with the revelation of discovery comes more questions. The couple were delighted with the texture and flavor. He and his fiancee, Lauren Alexander, originally from Austin, Texas and Boston respectively, stepped into the golden light of knowledge when they became Bay Area transplants and discovered Dutch Crunch at sandwich shops like Ike’s and Mr. “It’s a very pleasant combination of a crunchy exterior and a soft, slightly sweet white bread on the inside,” says Jonathan Hillis of Oakland. ![]() NPR One or your favorite podcast platform. ![]() but get about 10 miles outside the Bay and that option disappears.īay Curious is a podcast that answers your questions about the Bay Area. 8/8/2023 0 Comments Gopro session 4 video quality![]() This feature alone may be enough to convince you to seek out the older camera while you can still find one for sale. The Hero5 Session, on the other hand, is fully 4K-capable at 30fps. Most notable is the absence of 4K support, with the maximum recording resolution limited to 1440p at a maximum of 60fps. The new GoPro Hero offers much-reduced video capabilities compared to the Hero5 Session. ![]() GoPro Hero Vs GoPro Hero5 Session: Video Specifications The GoPro Hero5 Session is much more compact, but lacks the touchscreen of the larger GoPro Hero. The touch screen will make good use of that extra battery power, however, meaning you won’t necessarily get better battery life out of the Hero, but the removable design is a big advantage when it comes to changing batteries in the field or replacing worn out ones which no-longer hold their charge as well as they did when new. GoPro Hero Vs GoPro Hero5 Session: BatteryĪ physically larger camera body provides more internal space and the Hero, like the Hero5 Black and Hero6 Black finds room for a removable 1220Ah battery, which is a little over 20% larger than the non-removable 1000mAh battery found in the Hero5 Session. Weights and dimensions of the two cameras are as follows: The Hero also adds a Micro-HDMI port for direct connection to a TV or monitor - something not present on the smaller Hero5 Session.īoth cameras feature a waterproof body able to operate safely at depths of up to 33 feet without the need for a separate underwater housing. The Hero5 Session, however, is more flexible when it comes to mounting as it can fit into (slightly) smaller spaces and weighs a little less.īoth cameras are pretty small, so GoPro clearly feels the extra usability of the touchscreen is worth more to the average user than having the smallest possible action camera. The built-in touch screen makes the Hero much easier to use than the Hero5 Session, especially for beginners, and it doesn’t rely so heavily on the smartphone app for control and reviewing footage. This change in design lowers the price bar to the ‘full’ GoPro touch screen experience but leaves fans of the smaller model without an equivalent replacement in GoPro’s new line up. ![]() The GoPro Hero is a much larger device than the Hero5 Session it replaces, abandoning the trademark cuboid proportions of the screenless Session range in favour of the rectangular design of the more expensive Hero5 Black and Hero6 Black models with their built-in two-inch touch screens. GoPro Hero Vs GoPro Hero5 Session: Design & Dimensions The Hero5 Session is no longer available directly from GoPro, but can still be purchased from retailers such as Amazon, where it can often be found at a discounted price while stocks are still available. Launching at $199, the new Hero matches the Hero5 Session on price, maintaining the entry price point to the GoPro range. 8/8/2023 0 Comments Kate middleton awkward moments![]() “You did a bloody s*** job,” she replied, deadpan.Īgain the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took the very honest comments in their stride - even telling staff they appreciated Joan’s honesty. “You said we didn’t do a good job,” William jokingly reminded Joan. I think the world has changed a lot as well. MK: And I would certainly be careful about what I used. I think if I was still a diplomat, I would be more careful about using WeChat. Although there are some others that are probably less appropriate. MK: I think these are cheeky and naughty, but they're not even close to crossing the line of being inappropriate. Do you think if you were still a diplomat, you would have these stickers? And when you give me this cheeky naughtiness, that's kind of what he was slightly worried about. When I interviewed a diplomat in Season 01 - he worked for the New Zealand consulate here - he was always careful about stickers, because they can be misconstrued. And it's just super fun, and a little bit naughty. And I just think that the designs are brilliant. There’s a duck, and there's a cat, and I think there are a couple of other characters that occasionally make an appearance. MK: And it's actually, you know, a couple of characters. So there's a series of WeChat stickers which is called 小刘, Little Liu. MK: It's a great question actually, because I communicate more by stickers than by text. And the second reason it’s crazy is that if you are following on social media - specifically if you’re in one of the listeners groups on WeChat - then you’re going to be deluged with a reminder of all the favourite stickers chosen by the guests of Season 02. ![]() So if you don’t have access to the images on social media, listening to today’s compilation will be a slightly bewildering experience.
